What is voicemail?

With voicemail, your listeners can record a short audio message and send it to you. They open a link from your show notes, record up to one minute, and the message lands in your dashboard. They do not need an RSS.com account to do it.

Which plans have it

• Free and every paid plan can turn voicemail on.
• On Free you can listen to one message. The others are kept for you and open up when you move to a paid plan.
• On Plus, Pro and Max you listen to all of them, with no limit.
• While you are on a trial, before you pick a plan, voicemail is not available.

Note: choose the Free plan and voicemail is on from the start. On the paid plans you turn it on yourself. If you were already on Free before we launched voicemail, it is off until you turn it on. We did not touch show notes that were already published.

What changes when it is on

We add your invite to every episode's notes. That text travels with your feed, so your listeners see it in Apple Podcasts, Spotify and any other app your show reaches. You choose whether it sits at the top or the bottom, and the invite text itself is the link. It goes at the top until you change it. Write it yourself or leave ours. Where the messages arrive

Each voicemail shows up in your podcast Settings, under Voicemail, with the sender's name, their email address and the length of the recording. We also email you when a new one comes in. See how to listen to your voicemails.

What your listeners do

They open your link, record, and confirm their email address with a code we send them. It takes about a minute. The article on how to send a voicemail to a podcast is written for them, so you can share it with your audience.

What it does not do yet

• A voicemail belongs to your show, not to one episode. You have a single inbox per podcast.
• You cannot reply from the dashboard. You have the sender's email address, so you answer from your own inbox.
• Voicemails are not transcribed.
• You cannot delete a message you have received. If someone sends you something abusive, turn voicemail off and write to support@rss.com.
