With the launch of PodViz, our custom product for distributing episodes to YouTube, and YouTube’s own RSS ingestion system, podcasters now have two great options for reaching their audience on YouTube. This guide will help you understand each option’s features, pros, and cons, so you can choose the best fit for your needs.
PodViz is designed to enhance your episodes with:
- Higher Resolution Video: Enjoy a more visually appealing experience.
- Custom Waveform Animation: Adds dynamic visual elements beyond your cover image.
- Integrated Chapters: If you use chapters, they will be embedded in your videos by default.
The only tradeoff is that it requires manual submission of each video to YouTube as you publish them.
YouTube’s RSS ingestion system automatically uploads all your episodes to YouTube, similar to platforms like Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Thus all your episodes, including the back catalog, are automatically available on YouTube without any manual effort.
However, it lacks the enhanced visual features provided by PodViz and there’s no automatic chapter integration.
Choosing the Right Option
- For Large Back Catalogs: If your priority is to have all past episodes available on YouTube immediately, YouTube RSS ingestion is the way to go. Click here to learn how to connect your RSS feed.
- For Enhanced Visuals: If you prefer better-looking videos and integrated chapters, PodViz is the ideal choice.
We hope this guide helps you decide the best way to upload your episodes to YouTube.
