One of the headaches of starting a podcast is getting the episode art just right. That's why we've introduced an automatic re-sizer, ensuring it looks perfect across all platforms. If your image size is too small, resizing may cause the image to become blurry. For the best result, upload an image that already matches the recommendations below.
Your episode art should be:
- A square JPG or PNG image, up to 5 MB
- Recommended size: 3000 x 3000 pixels (smaller square images are accepted too)
- Resolution of at least 72 dpi (300 dpi is better)
- Image only, or text showing just the artist name and release title
RSS.com automatically makes your cover square and resizes it so it's stored at between 1600 and 3000 pixels, so it looks sharp on every app. Starting from a large, high-quality image gives the best result.
Artwork must be original and can’t contain any of the following:
- Blurry, misaligned, mismatched, or pixelated images
- Explicit language
- Placeholder images
- Podcast directory and associated property logos
- The names of podcast directories, players, or applications
- Visual representation of branded hardware without express permission
- References to illegal drugs, profanity, or violence
- Ads, sponsor logos, or marketing copy
Remember that your cover art will likely be displayed in smaller formats throughout different directories. Make sure your image and text are simple enough to be legible even as a thumbnail.
