One of the headaches of starting a podcast is getting the cover just right. That's why we've introduced an automatic re-sizer, ensuring it looks perfect across all platforms. If your image size is too small, resizing may cause the image to become blurry. If you don't want your cover image to be resized, make sure it meets the standard cover art requirements for most podcast directories provided below.
Your Cover Art Should Be:
- Max size: 500kb
- JPG or PNG image file
- A Perfect square and at least 1400 x 1400 pixels. Apple Podcasts recommends images to be 3000 x 3000 pixels
IMPORTANT: Apple Podcast individual episode cover art must be at least 3000 x 3000 pixel
- Resolution of at least 72 dpi (300 dpi is better)
- Only include text stating the artist name and release title or image only with no text
Artwork must be original and can’t contain any of the following:
- Blurry, misaligned, mismatched, or pixelated images
- Explicit language
- Placeholder images
- Podcast directory and associated property logos
- The names of podcast directories, players, or applications
- Visual representation of branded hardware without express permission
- References to illegal drugs, profanity, or violence
- Ads, sponsor logos, or marketing copy
Remember that your cover art will likely be displayed in smaller formats throughout different directories. Make sure your image and text are simple enough to be legible even as a thumbnail.
