At RSS.com, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to manage and share your podcast content. One of the key features we offer is the ability to download transcripts of your episodes. These transcripts can enhance accessibility, improve your podcast’s SEO, and provide a text-based reference for your audience.
Here’s how you can download your (previously created) episode transcript.
Step 1: Log in to your RSS.com account and access your Podcast dashboard.
Step 2: Navigate to the episode list, find the episode for which you want to download the transcript. Click on the episode transcript icon to open its detailed view.
Important: You can only download a transcript if it has been previously generated — either automatically using our transcription tool or manually uploaded. If you haven’t done this yet, please take a moment to learn how to create or upload your transcript first.
Step 3: The “Edit Transcript” modal will open. Simply copy and paste the transcript into your preferred tool.
Note on Transcript Formats
- Transcripts can exist in various formats, such as plain text (.txt) SRT, or VTT.
- Our automatic transcription engine generates them in the SRT format.
- SRT files include timestamps that align the text with your audio, which is great for video or subtitle use but may not always be necessary for other purposes.
Removing Timestamps from SRT Transcripts
If your auto-generated transcript is downloaded as an SRT file and you prefer to have it without timestamps, there’s an easy solution. You can remove the timestamps using a free online tool like TimeWipe.
RSS.com is not affiliated with TimeWipe, but we recommend it as a user-friendly and effective tool for cleaning up your transcripts.
By following these steps, you can easily manage and customize your episode transcripts, making them work best for your needs.
