Spotify now allows podcasters who host their podcasts on third-party platforms, including RSS.com, to add video to their episodes. This means you can enhance your podcast by including video content without needing to move your hosting to Spotify.
First, make sure you check out how to get access to Spotify for Creators.
Now, here’s how to do it:
- Log into Spotify for Creators: Use your Spotify account credentials to log into Spotify for Creators.
- Select Your Podcast: If you have multiple podcasts, locate the one you want to add a video to by finding it in the sidebar or selecting “All podcasts.”
- Choose the Episode: Find the episode you want to change to a video episode.
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to that episode.
- Click on "Upload video" and choose the video file from your device.
- Publish Your Video Episode: Once you’re satisfied with the preview, click "Publish" and your video episode will now be available to your fans on the Spotify apps and web player.
Why This Update Matters
Adding video to your podcast can provide a richer experience for your audience and help you stand out in a crowded podcasting landscape.
Previously, if your podcast wasn’t hosted on Spotify, you couldn’t add video to your episodes without creating a separate podcast on Spotify for Creators. Now, you can seamlessly integrate video content into your existing podcast, even if it’s hosted with a third-party service like RSS.com.
Important Notes
- You need to log into Spotify for Creators using a Spotify account to upload video content to your episodes.
- You can choose which episodes to add video to, so you can mix audio-only and video episodes as you prefer.
- Video episodes uploaded through Spotify for Creators are only available on the Spotify apps and web player.
