The short answer is no. RSS.com does not have an archive feature for episodes. The only way to remove an episode from your feed is to delete it. There is no option to hide, unpublish, or keep an episode privately stored while removing it from listeners' apps.
Why there's no archive option
Podcast distribution works through your RSS feed. Once an episode is in the feed, it's available to every directory and app that pulls from it (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, etc.). An "archive" state would have to either:
- Keep the episode in the feed (in which case it's still public), or
- Remove it from the feed (in which case it's effectively deleted from listeners' perspective).
Because there's no middle ground that's meaningful to listeners, RSS.com keeps it simple: episodes are either published or deleted.
Workarounds if you want to "archive" an episode
If you want to take an episode out of circulation without losing it entirely, here are your options:
- Download a copy first. Before deleting, download the audio file and any artwork from your dashboard so you keep a local copy.
- Save your show notes. Copy the episode title, description, and any links into a separate document — these are not recoverable once deleted.
- Export analytics. If you want to keep the episode's performance data, export it from the Analytics section before deletion (deleting the episode removes its analytics, see related article).
Re-upload later if needed. Nothing stops you from re-publishing the same audio as a new episode in the future. Note that it will appear as a new episode with a new publication date and will not retain the original episode's analytics or download count.
