Understanding Audio Delivery for Early Access and Ad-Free

Modified on Thu, 12 Feb at 1:28 AM

When you offer Early Access or Ad-Free content through Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, the way your audio is delivered changes for your subscribers.

Specifically, any listener who has an active subscription to your show will always receive the audio files hosted directly by Apple, rather than the files hosted on RSS.com. This ensures that subscribers get the specific version of the episode you intended for them, such as an early release or a version without dynamic ads.

Because Apple serves these files directly to your subscribers, these specific listens will not appear in your RSS.com analytics dashboard. Instead, you can track your subscriber engagement and download data directly within Apple Podcasts Connect. Non-subscribers will continue to receive your episodes from RSS.com as usual, and their data will remain visible in your RSS.com analytics.
