Removing the Chartable Prefix

Modified on Wed, 9 Oct at 3:17 AM

As Chartable sunsets its services, it's important for podcasters who have integrated Chartable into their RSS feeds to take action to ensure uninterrupted downloads. Here’s everything you need to know and how to remove the Chartable prefix from your podcast feed.

What’s happening with Chartable?

Spotify has announced that Chartable will be discontinued on December 12, 2024. If you are using Chartable for analytics, tracking, or SmartLinks, you need to remove the Chartable prefix from your podcast RSS feed before this date. Failure to do so may prevent your episodes from being downloaded properly by your listeners once Chartable shuts down.

When should I remove the prefix?

It’s recommended to remove the Chartable prefix as soon as possible. Although Chartable will be available until December 12, 2024, proactively removing the prefix ensures no disruption to your podcast’s distribution.

Why do I need to remove the Chartable prefix?

Chartable’s tracking relies on inserting a prefix into your podcast’s RSS feed URL. Once Chartable shuts down, this prefix will no longer work and may result in broken links or failed downloads if left in place.

How to check if your podcast has a Chartable prefix?

If you're unsure whether your podcast feed has a Chartable prefix, you can easily check it by viewing your RSS feed URL. If you see Chartable in your RSS feed URL, you will need to remove it.

Look for a prefix similar to this:

https://chartable.com/{{your-feed-url}}
