How do I replace an audio file previously added to an episode?

Modified on Wed, 18 Sep at 4:55 AM

Important: Once an audio file has been modified or deleted, no information can be recovered.

To replace the audio file inside the podcast episode, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your RSS.com dashboard

2. Click on the 3 dots next to the episode you want to edit or delete

3. Click on "Edit episode"

4. Click on the "Replace audio file" button to update the audio file of the episode

5. Upload the new audio file that will replace the old one.

6. Click "Save"

Important: The episode cannot be left without an audio file. If you do not upload any new audio the system will not save the changes. If you want to delete the entire episode, it is better that you click on "Remove Podcast Episode"

Important: When you replace the audio file of an already published episode, the new file will automatically update across all platforms where your podcast is distributed. However, it’s important to note that while most platforms, like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and others, will update the episode with the new audio, the exact timing may vary depending on the platform’s refresh cycle. Typically, this happens within a few hours but could take up to 24 hours. Also, listeners who have already downloaded the episode before the update will need to re-download it to get the latest version.
